California Sues to Demand Clean Cars; Illinois is a Supporter

November 8, 2007. Illinois is one of 14 states to support California’s efforts to obtain the necessary federal approval to implement stricter greenhouse gas emissions. The State of California filed two legal actions that claim the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has “unreasonably delayed” action on outstanding waiver request that would allow clean car laws to go into affect. New Mexico Adopts Clean Car Rules

November 29, 2007. New Mexico became the 13th state to adopt California’s Clean Car standards with emission requirements for 2011 model year cars, adopted at the end of November by the state’s Environmental Improvement Boar. Click here to read an article in the Houston Chronicle.

Federal Fuel Economy Bill Impact State Standards
