A public forum about the economic benefits of energy efficiency will be held Wednesday on the campus of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
A town hall meeting, hosted by the Illinois Environmental Council, will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Oak/Redbud Room of the Morris University Center on campus.
The council is renewing its push to pass several global warming measures with "Global Warming, Local Solutions," a series of town hall meetings about climate change to discuss how citizens can help and talk about global warming legislation and its impact on the environment, the state's ailing economy and public health.
Speakers at the event include; Charles Jackson, executive director of the Illinois Environmental Council; Brian Granahan, attorney at Environment Illinois; Zak Krug of the Sierra Club Piasa Palisades Chapter; John Hanson, SIUE Political Science Association and Nathalie Woloszyn of SIUE Students for Sustainability.
